Katya Bessmertnaya was born in Minsk, Belarus. Growing up in a home where sewing was common, she was fascinated with all the warm forms and textures around her and was inspired to stitch them together, bringing them to life. She had also been impassioned to paint from a young age and attended a school for children gifted in art and music. It was thus only natural for her to combine these two passions to develop her distinctive style of “painting with fabrics” and narrate her stories through it. Katya’s works can be found in private collections throughout the world and occasionally on exhibit within the Greater Boston area where she now resides.
